Ralph D. Dalgarno

Ralph Dalgarno is a member of the Advisory Board of YANGAROO. Previously he served as a Director of YANGAROO. Mr. Dalgarno is a barrister and solicitor at Aylesworth LLP with a practice focused primarily on securities and commercial transactions including the purchase and sale of assets and shares, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, corporate organizations and reorganizations, amalgamations, plans of arrangement, disclosure documents, public and private financing, exempt market transactions, complex share provisions and all manner of corporate precedents. Mr. Dalgarno has authored and edited several publications for the legal profession.

Peter Diemer

Peter Diemer, brings over 25 years of experience in marketing, sales, and business development in the music, entertainment, technology and loyalty industry to the Yangaroo Advisory Board.

Diemer is a Managing Partner of Kraft Media Group, an Agency that was created by two entertainment and technology veterans.  Their understanding and strategic application of expertise in these areas, combined with a CRM foundation, allows them to approach many unique challenges by working closely with their partners and clients.

As the Executive Vice President of Strategy & Development for Hip Digital Media, a global leader in on-line media distribution, he oversaw and steered the strategic direction, client development and relationships for the company.   Hip Digital’s suite of services includes full music stores for on-line promotions, loyalty initiatives, e-commerce, creative services, on-pack incentives and gaming.

Previously, Diemer was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Yangaroo,, and has also held senior level executive positions for Capitol-EMI, MCA/Universal Records and EMI Music Canada, where he was instrumental in managing all artist and media relations, radio and television promotional efforts, and governmental affairs.

Diemer has a degree in Television, Stage and Radio Arts, from S.A.I.T. (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) in Calgary, Alberta. He’s been actively involved with various music organizations, including The Juno Awards, where he chaired the Marketing Committee in 1997 & 2002.  He is also a past Board Member of the Norwesters Track and Field Club and is the President of the Callaghan Valley Sport and Cultural Society, the organizing group of the Whistler Spirit Run.

Dick Gary

Dick Gary is a member of the Advisory Board of YANGAROO. Mr. Gary is the Chairman and Founder of The Gary Group, the music industry's leading advertising agency, providing media planning/placement, creative services and product fulfillment to major music labels, leading independents and distributors for online and offline advertising. The Gary Group has distinguished itself through its 30 year track record of sales success and award-winning creative, working on over 2,000 music-related campaigns a year, including approximately 75% of the 50 Top Selling CDs. Mr. Gary started his career in radio where he rose to become General Manager of a New York City station. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Country Music Association for over 20 years and sits on the Boards of a number of philanthropic organizations.

Wojtek Hoch

Wojtek Hoch is a member of the Advisory Board and past VP of YANGAROO.

Prior to YANGAROO, Hoch served as Director of New Media & Strategic Planning at EMI/Virgin Music in Canada, where he was responsible for all planning, execution and maintenance of all new media initiatives such as internet, intranet, artist's promotions and new media initiatives. Throughout his tenure at EMI/Virgin Music, Hoch significantly increased traffic to its main Web site by 300%. He was also instrumental in the design, build-out and implementation of its content management system that enabled effective online marketing. Hoch launched numerous online entities including SHOPEMI.com and helped transitioned the company from two marketing sites to 34 artist related sites.

Hoch also served in other leading management positions which include consulting for CGI Information Systems and Management Consultants Inc, where he designed and developed unique content management solutions for various clients such as Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, He also served as Managing Director of Business Development for Fantastic Media overseeing all marketing campaigns which resulted in overall 100% traffic increase. Hoch was also instrumental in the development of unique systems for rapid prototyping.

Hoch has served as an advisory consultant for industry leading companies such as EMI Music, EMI Publishing, BMG Music, Moon taxi, Oglenet and Etheraction, and Omnicom. He is a Board Member of Nomadic-e! Entertainment wireless. Hoch has studied business and marketing at Tyler College, TX, Ryerson Institute, and York University.

Gerry Lacoursiere

Gerry Lacoursiere was a Director of YANGAROO and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PolyGram/A&M Records Canada, Inc. In September, 1969 he superintended the launch of A & M Records Canada. In October 1990, Mr. Lacoursiere was appointed Chairman of the Polygram Group, overseeing the amalgamation of Polygram, A&M, and Island Records. In January, 1997, Mr. Lacoursiere retired and in March of that year was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame and was presented by Billboard Magazine, the "Billboard International Business Achievement Award."

Gerd Leonhard

Gerd Leonhard is a well-known digital music & entertainment expert, entrepreneur and executive. He was the Founder, President and CEO of LicenseMusic.com, Inc, the leading web-based music licensing company headquartered in San Francisco, providing high quality repertoire to professionals working in the film, television, advertising, interactive and audio-visual industries worldwide. He is also the Founder and President of DMO/The Digital Marketing Organization and the Music-Entrepreneurs Network, and co-author of the upcoming book 'The Future of Music' (BerkleePress). Mr. Leonhard has spoken at many industry events including Webnoize, MIDEM, MILIA, Streaming Media Europe, DDMI/Digital Distribution of Music Conference, and has lectured at leading schools around the globe including UC Berkeley, University of Colorado, Westminster University London, and Berklee College of Music. He has also been an Expert Adviser to the European Commission in Brussels / Belgium, and a senior consultant with Rightscom Ltd. of London. In 1987, Mr. Leonhard earned a diploma in Performance from Boston's Berklee College of Music after winning Berklee's prestigious Quincy Jones Award for arranging and composing.

Rupert Perry

Rupert Perry spent over thirty years with EMI Music. After joining in 1971 he was responsible for many parts of the company's record business around the world. He worked in the USA as Vice President of Artist and Repertoire for Capitol Records from 1976 - 1982 and then as President of EMI America from 1982 - 1984. He was sent to Australia in 1985 briefly as Managing Director before returning to London, where he was President of EMI Records UK from 1986 - 1995 and President of EMI Europe from 1995 - 1999. At the same time, he was Chairman of the UK Music Trade Association of British Phonographic Industries (BPI) from 1993 - 1995 and then Chairman of the International Federation of Phonographic Industries (IFPI) European Board from 1998 - 2002. For his services to the British Music Industry he was awarded a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) in the Queens Honour List of 1997 and more recently received the prestigious IFPI Medal for services to the International Recording Industry in 2004. Mr. Perry is now a consultant and serves on various boards.

David Staples

David Staples is a member of the Advisory Board and a founder of YANGAROO. David spent over twenty years as an investment advisor at a number of financial services firms, most recently at Octagon Capital Corp. Throughout his investment advisory career David has successfully focused on financing early stage entities in the technology and other sectors. David is a Registered Representative and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree for the University of Toronto.

Garry Wallace

Garry Wallace holds a BSc degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto and Electronic Technologist diploma in Design from Centennial College. His career experience is as an executive in the technology services industry.

Garry started his career in the Advanced Networking technology Division of Xerox Canada holding positions in Service Management, Systems Sales, Sales Management, General Management, Marketing and Director of Partnering over a 23 year span. In the early 90's Garry joined the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce's strategy office as Director of Sales and Service where he headed a team focused on redesigning their Sales go-to-market strategy. In the mid-90's Garry joined Compaq Computers as Vice President of Services Sales. In 2000 Garry assumed leadership duties at Telepanel Systems as President and CEO bringing multiple rounds of financing to the firm and engaging numerous industry partners.

Currently through his consulting firm "Harbinger Consulting" Garry currently assists technology companies in marketing, sales, management and securing value added funding. Garry currently sits on the Board of Directors of CIUT, a community focused radio station based on the campus of the University of Toronto. As well, Garry is a member of the Board of Directors for the high tech websearch marketing firm, Avalanche Networks.
